What is Family-Centered Care?
Family-Centered Care in the NICU recognizes parents and families as essential partners in their baby’s health and healing. Instead of seeing parents as “visitors,” family-centered care positions them as core members of the care team, with unique expertise about their child.
Our Mission
We support NICUs as they begin or strengthen Family-Centered Care in their units. To address the challenges that exist in implementing FCC practices, we offer free education, resources, and quality improvement opportunities. Our guiding principle is equal partnership between clinicians and Family Partners in everything we do.
